This category of services covers the use of software applications running on the Government cloud infrastructure. These applications are accessible from various client devices either through a thin client interface, such as a web browser (e.g., web-based email), or an application program interface (API).
The customer does not manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure including network, servers, operating systems, storage, or even individual application capabilities, with the possible exception of limited user specific application configuration settings as determined by Galaxy and specified in the Service Agreement.

Software as a Service (SaaS) is an integral part of the services Galaxy Backbone offers. Within SaaS, the following services are further broken down:
