Gerald Amadi commenced his professional career with the Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) in 2001 in roles as Project Engineer and Solutions Design Expert, he anchored the implementation of Enterprise Network solutions for multinational companies, including the British America Tobacco, Cadbury Nigeria and the Nigeria Bottling Company, as well as a number of Tier 1 banking institutions.
As the Group Head, Digital Innovation and Skills (RDIS), Gerald currently leads the digital innovation efforts in Galaxy Backbone and by extension, the Federal Government of Nigeria’s public sector. He transitioned into this role from managing the delivery of critical infrastructure projects in Galaxy, during which time he had overseen the successful implementation of a single portfolio investment of USD$0.5B, as well as several other impact projects in the defense and public service sectors. When it comes to the big ticket, high impact projects, he has a knack for understanding and successfully navigating different stakeholder interests, negotiating value positions, all while prioritising the risks that may threaten required outcomes.
Gerald holds a Postgraduate Masters degree in Modern Communications Technologies with Business Management, from the University of Sussex, UK. He has a first degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Owerri. In addition to attending several industry training workshops and seminars over the years, Gerald is a COREN accredited Engineer, a member of the Nigeria Computer Society and a Prince 2 professional.
